School for Startups became a Certified B Corporation in 2017. B Corps are a new type of company that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.

In June 2018, S4S was awarded the "Best for the World" award and was recognized as one of the social companies worldwide that generated the most positive overall impact on its customers based on a comprehensive and independent evaluation administered by B Corp.
